Job Description:

Purpose: This position plays a crucial role in the efficient management of outbound (domestic and international cargo) and handling inbound cargo arriving at the station.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handling cargo shipments.
• Executing cargo operations in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Ensuring proper packing, marking, and weight on cargo packets/Airway Bills (AWB) before acceptance.
• Managing cargo manifests in line with sales planning.
• Overseeing the dispatch of cargo from the warehouse with all required documents.
• Generating accurate documentation and reports.
• Organizing cargo segregation and trolley setup for flights.
• Ensuring proper loading/unloading of cargo from aircraft.
• Forwarding essential messages to cargo destinations and handling documents.
• Segregating incoming cargo and delivering it to consignees, addressing discrepancies.
• Liaising with customs, AAI, and CUT Operators to ensure compliance with government regulations.
• Issuing carting orders for export cargo and delivery orders for Customs.
• Booking and reserving shipments on the computer.
• Verifying and accepting cargo, checking rates and volumes.
• Ensuring accurate issuance of Airway Bills by Cargo Agents.
• Issuing Airway Bills on behalf of assigned products when necessary.
• Handling customs paperwork for assigned products, if required.
• Supervising the ground handling staff's activities on the ramp.
• Overseeing the work of loaders and ensuring compliance with prescribed procedures.
• Maintaining ground support equipment and ensuring safety standards are met, with assets kept clean and serviceable.
• Adhering to safety, security, and SOPs related to Cargo operations.
• Complying with safety responsibilities and accountabilities as specified in the IndiGo SMS Manual, Chapter Safety Policy and Objectives.
